About Better Earth (BE)

Better Earth (BE) is a Non-Governmental Organisation registered under the Non­Governmental Organisation Act, No. 24 of 2002, with registration number 00NGO/R/7607. The Organisation is registered to operate its activities in Tanzania Mainland.

The Organisation was formed on October 2024. Better Earth was established to assist in improving the livelihood of the people, particularly in remote areas where people are facing economic, social, health, and environmental challenges. 

Access to clean and safe water, health care, education, and adequate food affects the living condition of the rural community. Pressures imposed by climatic change have resulted to problems in crop cultivation and animal keeping which are the major sources of food and economic security. Moreover, there are social challenges affecting the society like gender equality, gender-based violence, women empowerment, and other traditions like child marriage and FGM.
