Mission
To improve the socio-economic status of the community by guiding on planning, managing and efficient utilization of available resources and facilitation of community- initiated development projects.
Vision
To have a community with improved socio-economic status and which has access to better social services.
Values and Guiding Principles
The main core values of the Organisation are;
- Equality: There shall be justice and fairness in the Organisation.
- Transparency: The cooperation between the Organisation, community, the Government, donors, and other stakeholders should be characterized by transparency concerning policies, strategies, plans, decisions, reports and financial issues. This openness promotes effectiveness and efficiency in achieving the intended organisational objectives.
- Accountability: There shall be accountability to persons who implement various activities in the organisation for decisions to be made and responsibilities.
- Team work: The Organisation will maintain mutual respect, collective responsibility, and collaboration in achieving the planned objectives.
- Participation: The community shall be involved in project initiation and during the implementation of project activities so as to have sustainable impact.
- Non-discrimination: The Organisation shall ensure non-discrimination based on race, gender, age, religion, culture and disability.
Organisation Objectives
The main objectives of Better Earth (BE) are;
- Sensitizing the community concerning sexually transmitted diseases, FGM, and non-communicable diseases.
- Empowering the community on modern agricultural practices to increase their yield from crop cultivation and livestock keeping.
- Advocating for gender equality and women’s rights, addressing gender-based violence, and access to and control of resources.
- Empowering the community on environmental conservation, sustainable environmental practices, and adaptation to climatic change.
- Train and develop entrepreneurial skills among youths and women to be economically self-reliant.
- Developing community-based initiatives to foster community development.
