Organizational Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E)
Monitoring and evaluation of projects will be conducted as a pre-requisite to track the progress, rectify shortfalls and determine to what extent the objectives of the project have been achieved. Justifiable progress will be measured against multiple indicators.
Monitoring: Monitoring will be done to ensure that no inconvenience might cause unexpected results. Activities will be monitored all-most quarterly and data acquired will be compared with the targets of the main objective. Data collection and monitoring tools which will be used are interview guides and meetings to ensure the collection of important data according to project indicators. Monitoring reports will be prepared to indicate activities done, inputs supplied, findings and recommendations that will facilitate on-time corrective decision making. Community members, local government leaders, other stakeholders (youth networks, school clubs, and opinion leaders), the project committee and the Project Team will be involved in monitoring.
Evaluation: Evaluation will aim to examine the progress made towards achieving the stated project objective. Evaluation of the project will be conducted in two phases (Interim evaluation, Terminal evaluation and Ex-post evaluation).
- Interim evaluation will be conducted annually throughout the implementation period of the project. Annual evaluation reports will be prepared to describe the overall progress of the project.
- Terminal evaluation will be done at the final year (end) of the project to assess what has been achieved concerning the pre-determined project objective. End of the project evaluation report will be prepared to sum up the change achieved.
- Ex-post evaluation will be done after at least one year since the completion of the project to measure the impact and sustainability.
Generally, evaluations will be conducted by both internal (project team) and external evaluators.
